I didn't really know what to expect from this book. I've never read Nanao Okuda's work and it looked like another ho-hum boy's love romance set in a school. Nicely surprised, I really enjoyed the characters. The stories interweave between characters so it reads like a one-shot instead of a hodge-podge of short stories that totally annoy me!The main story focuses on the cool basketball star Anzai and the young and upcoming basketball player, Wakamiya. Deep admiration for the star, Wakamiya enrolls in the same university so he can play with his hero on the court. But when he gets to the university, Anzai isn't attending any of the practices. Wakamiya sets out to discover why, and along the way, falls in love.
This is a breezy summer read without too much angst, except for Anzai's best friend, Yoji, who can't express his feelings too well. But not to worry, even though he realizes that he loves Anzai, he knows their friendship will not blossom into love. He gets his own romance with another basketball star that compliments the quiet, reserve Yoji.
